Scraps of Darkness Reveal "Touch of Grey"

Today the Scraps of Darkness Design Team is revealing more of their work with the beautiful "Touch of Grey" kit.

You can see more of the kit here

AND don't forget Scraps of Darkness has a store stocked with goodies here

Onto my project! I mentioned in my previous SOD post that I was taking this time to scrap for a friend of mine. She lost her parents last year and has been quite heart broken. I wanted to do something special for her so I asked her to send me some photos that she loved of them and I would scrap them.

This is a photo of her Dad. I know she adored him and that he meant the world to her. I thought this photo was just perfect for these papers. The vintage feel goes so well with this kit.

I love collage style scrapping and think it's probably one of the styles that I do best. A little shabby edge to it with some elegant grunge touches.

The edges were machine stitched and inked.

I cut the postage stamp edge of my paper on my Cameo. I also cut all the gears from cardstock on my Cameo. I thought I should start putting that machine to use. I don't use it nearly as much as I want to. I layered in some Dusty Attic chipboard and painted it in Lindys Mist.

I created the rosette flowers with a Tim Holtz die. I ran the tag through my cuttlebug with an embossing folder.

I like to use the edges of my paper as design elements. You know that small 12 inch length that has the manufacturers name on it. The other side usually has a design. In this case I used the butterflies. I tore it up as though it was Washi Tape and added it in here and there.

Finishing touches are some flourishes cut on my Cameo, patina added to the Prima metal clock, buttons, florals and inking. I also added a subtle touch by including the license plate letter and numbers in my design.

Thanks so much for stopping in. Be sure to check out the Design Team Gallery at Scraps of Darkness. You can find that here.
